Group Guided Imagery and Music (TEAM-GIM) for Organisational Development and Change
Unlocking creativity, resilience, and adaptability through music and imagery.

Organisations today face constant change, which can create uncertainty, resistance, and stress. TEAM-GIM – an adaptation of Guided Imagery and Music (GIM) – offers a powerful way to help teams and leaders navigate transitions with greater insight and cohesion. Drawing on the pioneering work of Helen Bonny and later contributions by Lisa Summer, TEAM-GIM supports and sustains experiences in an altered state of consciousness, where music becomes the guide for exploration and meaning-making.
Through the imagery process, unconscious intentions, attitudes, and hidden team patterns are brought into awareness. The power of the music makes what was previously unseen or unnoticed more visible, providing a safe way to surface underlying dynamics that influence collaboration and change.
Benefits of TEAM-GIM in organisations:
- Facilitates change by helping employees process uncertainty and envision new possibilities.
- Strengthens resilience through shared stress-reduction and emotional regulation.
- Encourages creativity and innovation by accessing deeper layers of imagination and problem-solving.
- Reveals hidden patterns that shape team behaviour and organisational culture.
- Builds trust and cohesion as team members connect through shared symbolic and emotional experiences.
- Supports leadership development by enhancing self-awareness and vision.
TEAM-GIM creates a safe, non-verbal bridge between personal experience and organisational reality, making it a valuable process not only for stress management, but also for supporting cultural change, team alignment, and long-term organisational development.
